Capital Region Man Nabbed With Child Pornography, Police Say

A Capital Region man is behind bars after being nabbed with child pornography following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Rensselaer County resident Brayden P. Ayer, age 20, of Castleton on Hudson, was charged on Friday, Sept. 27, for promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child.

According to New York State Police Trooper Stephanie O'Neil, Ayer is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation. 

O'Neil said his arrest followed an investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Castleton on Hudson.

Ayer was arrested, charged, arraigned, and remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility in place of $20,000 bail.
